It's the Harlem Shake, University of Mobile style

MOBILE, Alabama -- Add the University of Mobile to the list of those performing the? "Harlem Shake" meme.?

The University of Mobile version came about after senior Tyler Crane, a business major from Gainesville, Fla., and his friends watched Harlem Shake videos on YouTube, according to Kathy Dean, UM's director of media relations.

On Feb. 15, Crane and his friends texted, Tweeted, and created a Facebook event on the University of Mobile Campus Life Facebook page telling interested students to be at the Ram on campus at 3 p.m. on Feb. 16, Dean said.

At the start of the video, Crane is shown bring in the music. Sophomore communication major and Rams soccer goalkeeper Elijah Gibson of Birmingham is shown sitting on Mac the Ram.

It took about 30 minutes to shoot the video, Crane told Dean, with two takes of the introduction, and one of the group. The video was shot and edited by Trey Taulbee, digital media specialist at University of Mobile Enrollment Services/Marketing offices, Dean said.

"It was perfect," Crane said. "It's super spontaneous and we didn't plan too much of it."

Gotta love Mac the Ram.
